The product covers the window opening from the wall, trim or frame surface. This is useful for shallow frames, extra privacy or stronger light control.
Open outside worksheetBest when the window frame has enough usable depth.
Measure inside the frame at the top, middle and bottom. Record the smallest width.
Measure from the top inside frame down to the sill on the left, center and right. Record the tallest height.
Measure the clear depth at the top of the frame where the headrail or cassette will sit. Note locks, handles, cranks, alarms or trim that reduce usable space.
Record true field measurements. Final production allowances should be confirmed based on product type and mount style.

Choose whether the blind or shade will mount above the trim, on the trim or on another flat surface.
Measure the full left-to-right coverage area. Extra overlap can help reduce side light and improve privacy.
Measure from the selected headrail location down to the sill, apron or desired bottom point.
Write down trim thickness, tile, handles, cranks, door hardware or other protrusions that may affect brackets or operation.
